Sunshine Quality Solutions Announces 2026 AgriCapture Rice Carbon Program Enrollment

Mar 11, 2026 | Deere & Company News

Sunshine Quality Solutions is excited to announce enrollment for the 2026 AgriCapture Rice Carbon Program, providing rice growers with a new opportunity to generate additional revenue while implementing conservation practices that reduce methane emissions.

Through the program, rice producers can earn an average of $15 to $25 per acre by adopting improved water management practices such as Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) or Furrow Irrigated Rice (FIR). These practices help lower greenhouse gas emissions from rice production while creating verified carbon credits that can be sold in environmental markets.

The AgriCapture program works directly with growers to measure and verify methane reductions from improved irrigation methods. These verified reductions are converted into carbon credits, allowing farmers to participate in emerging sustainability markets while maintaining productive operations.

Growers enrolled in the program will receive 70 percent of the revenue generated from carbon credits, which are expected to be distributed in 2027. Participation requires a one year agreement, and there is no cost to enroll.

Eligible fields must either:
• Implement AWD or Furrow Irrigated Rice for the first time in 2026
• Have previously participated in the AgriCapture Rice Carbon Project and meet carbon credit eligibility requirements

Participants will provide basic agronomic data including field boundaries, planting and harvest dates, yield, fertilizer use, and residue management practices.

Sunshine Quality Solutions simplifies reporting by enabling field data to be pulled directly from the John Deere Operations Center, making participation efficient and easy for growers.

“Programs like this allow farmers to be rewarded for practices that are both economically and environmentally beneficial,” said a representative from Sunshine Quality Solutions. “It’s another way we can help our growers stay profitable while adopting practices that improve sustainability across agriculture.”

Enrollment is quick and can be completed online through the program survey. Growers simply enroll, implement AWD or FIR on approved acres, and allow the program to verify the environmental benefits generated.
